My name is Alex --a calligrapher and artist based in northern California. I'm so glad you stopped by!
I kind of felt like the odd one out in high school; I was you know, a little dorky and a little awkward. It’s a little embarrassing to admit, but lunch-time was the scariest time of day during my early years in high school. Fortunately, I found some solace in a hobby I picked up from my Spanish teacher. I remember seeing her crocheting during lunch and I thought it was so cool! I’m a bit of an old soul that way I suppose. At the time, and sometimes even still today, I felt like I do not have a creative bone in my body; my teacher thought otherwise and helped spark the creativity in me and the love for producing artwork! I still do some stitch-work for fun, but I’ve since exchanged my hook and yarn for a brush and paints. Thus, Cross and Dot was born. I would describe my style as whimsical pastels!
Currently, I'm obsessed with watercolor, coffee, and Les Mills BodyPump classes! When I don't have a paintbrush in hand, you can find me in my classroom teaching math, binge watching Chicago PD, or spending time with family and friends.
My desire for Cross and Dot is to:
1) help bring a little sparkle to your event through paper goods and calligraphy,
2) stir up your creative juices, and
3) create long lasting connections [even if it is only online :) ]
